What is a 13x4 Frontal?
The 13x4 lace frontals are half wigs made up of two component parts:
- A lace base measuring 13 inches across and 4 inches to the back.
- 100% human hair
The human hair is attached to the holes of the frontal lace base by hand-sewn stitches.
The lace frontal 13x4 measures from one side of the head to the other and is hence also called ear-ear frontal.
It has an incredibly perfect hairline that maintains a natural look. It'd look as though the hair grew right out of your scalp!
Since it is a half wig, it is usually used in combination with sew-in bundles and weaves. These make its styling varieties even more… You can part your hair however you want and even pack it up in a ponytail.
What's the difference between 13x4 and 13x6
Ever since the 13x6 lace frontal entered the market, this has got to be the most common question ever asked.
You guessed right, you know. It's right in front of you.
The major difference between the 13x4 lace frontal and 13x6 frontal closure is the dimension and the dimension alone.
While they have the same length (13 inches), in the 13x6 frontal closure, the lace extends to the back by an extra 2 inches.
Every other variable remains the same… They're both ear-ear, both half wigs.
This major difference, however, births some more differences.
1. With the lace frontal extending slightly further, the 13x6 frontal can be styled in more ways than the 13x4. You can make partings at particular regions of the back of your head while maintaining a natural hairline.
2. The 13x6 frontal has more breathability than the 13x4 lace. In essence, it can absorb and release more moisture.
3. As you can imagine, the 13x6 lace frontal is more expensive because of the extra lace base.
What size frontal should I get?
There's no hard and fast rule about this; neither is there a wrong nor right answer.
Mostly, it's a matter of choice, personal preference, and availability of funds.
Both the 13x4 and 13x6 frontal are very good wigs with more similarities than differences. They can make you look even more beautiful whilst still maintaining your natural essence.
If you can afford the 13x6, by all means, do.
If not, wear your 13x4 lace frontal with all pride.
